They can be as busy and hectic as we make them. As a mom of 3 little ones I'm always thinking of ways to plan ahead. Starting from preparing their clothes the night before all the way to deciding what it is for breakfast.
Imagine this sight. You very calmly walk out of room in the morning and are greeted by your children who are already dressed, brushed their teeth and their beds are made! (Gasp!) Can this really be true? Yes! It is possible. With a proper morning routine and structure children are capable of being ready on their own. Without nagging and 1000 reminders. Without us dashing out the door and chasing the bus with their snack in our hands and permission slip in the other.
Children are capable, confident and very resilient. As parents we have the responsibility to empower our children to do be just this. When we create effective and age appropriate guidelines we set up our children for success.
Below are 3 samples of a morning routine chart for toddlers, preschool age and 5 year old.
